An olla (or oya) is a traditional, natural way to save water and time as well as grow better plants. This ancient irrigation technique has aided plant cultivation for centuries.
Bury your olla in the soil, fill it with water and watch your plants thrive! The porous terracotta pot allows moisture to seep out slowly through its walls as the soil outside dries. Over time your plants roots may attach themselves to the outside of the olla and draw water out as they need it. Your plant will take just what it needs—no more, no less. Easy!
